Most people in our area recognize the Rutgers spirit mark—the bright red block R found on the side of our football stadium and on countless bumpers across the state (and beyond). On Rutgers Day, we invite you to leave your mark on the spirit R and check out other people’s creativity as well at the R Garden on Voorhees Mall at the College Avenue Campus.
You’ll know you’ve reached the garden when you see two five-foot-tall Rs covered in flowers and plants.
Little ones can decorate their own paper R to take home. You can sign your name to an R to be strung from the trees of the Voorhees Mall or leave your mark on a five-foot-tall, 3-D chalkboard R.

Indulge in delicious treats from a larger-than-life, R-shaped cupcake display made by Dining Services. Or just take in the surroundings—block R sculptures created by Rutgers Facilities and decorated by academic departments, administrative units, and student organizations to reflect their place here at the university.
It will be a sight to see.
