Your 15 Minutes of Fame

Be honest, have you ever imagined yourself on television? Perhaps you’ve fantasized about performing on stage in front of a live audience. Here’s your opportunity to put aside your make-believe microphone (i.e., the hairbrush) and go for the real thing. See below for a few opportunities to be in the limelight at Rutgers Day.

RU-tv

Meteorologist for a Day – Who wouldn’t like a shot at giving the five-day forecast? Also, the extra cool part is that your forecast will be recorded by RU-tv and you’ll walk away with a CD as a keepsake. Just know that regardless of the forecast for April 24th Rutgers Day will go on rain or shine. Let’s hope for the latter!

There will be an “All-Day Continuous Reading of To Kill a Mockingbird.” You are welcome to participate in the English department’s public reading for as long as you’d like. You may also have the opportunity to present more than once, so stop by the reading several times throughout the day. For those of you who like to play a more low-key role, just sit back and listen.

If you are feeling daring, try an on-stage Salsa workshop after students from the RU Salsa Club perform their dance routines.

A for Effort Improv Comedy – In addition to performing, the student organization A 4 Effort: Improvisational Comedy Group will encourage volunteers from the audience to make an attempt at improv. The format will follow the popular US comedy show, Whose Line is It Anyway?
