The Rutgers Day Effect

Teresa Sikorski, a first-year student at the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences, attributes her decision to enroll at Rutgers to her Rutgers Day experience.

Last year Teresa Sikorski was faced with a tough decision to make: to attend the University of Miami or enroll at Rutgers, The State of New Jersey. Sure, you’re thinking that’s a no-brainer, but Teresa wasn’t so sure.

Attending the inaugural Rutgers Day helped Teresa make her life-changing decision. Out of the more than 400 programs last year, do you know which event tipped the scale? It was the program “Meteorologist for a Day” hosted by RU-tv and the WeatherWatchers.

After arriving to Rutgers last semester, Teresa became a weekly weather anchor during her first week of school. Next year she’ll be a leader for the WeatherWatcher Living-Learning Community. See a previous blog entry about the “Meteorologist for a Day” program.
