Salsa dancing was just one of the cultural attractions at the Unity Day gathering at Busch Campus on Rutgers Day.  The event, organized by the Rutgers University Black Student Union, brings diverse groups together for a day of culture, conversation and performance.

“The whole purpose is to get people of different backgrounds, ethnicity, and talents, and bring them together so the whole university can see them,” said Emmanuel Maduakolam, president of the BSU.

Holding the event on Rutgers Day the last two years has brought many new faces to the scene. “Rutgers Day helped bring a lot of new people who wouldn’t normally have known about Unity Day,”  said Cienai Wright, the graduate assistant to the BSU.
