Imaginations Run Wild on Rutgers Day

Bring your children to the literary events on Rutgers Day for programs designed to foster creativity and learning through the art of storytelling.

storytimeAudience participation and post-story crafting is encouraged during Super Storytelling from noon to 2 p.m. on the College Avenue Campus at the Voorhees Mall with Lesley Morrow of the Graduate School of Education.

Story time continues from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Zimmerli Art Museum during Adventures in Storytelling with Ellen Musikant who will transport families with young children into a world of fantasy.

The English Department will bring literature to life through Puppet Stories on the Voorhees Mall at 11:30 a.m.; 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. After each show, learn how to create your own puppet character.

Children ages 6 and up who are inspired to let their own creative juices flow are invited to join poetry and fiction workshops for kids at 11 a.m. and noon respectively in Murray Hall room 002. Listen to children’s work read aloud, then pen a story or poem under the guidance of creative writing teachers. Parents must be present.
